MAD SYD SYMPOSIUM
CURATED WITH RENÉ REDZEPI

If you haven’t heard of René Redzepi, you may have heard of noma. One of the world’s most celebrated restaurants led by a Danish fine dining auteur, noma came to Sydney for a much hyped (and very delicious) residency for $700 a pop. With over 10k applicants, it was peak Sydney.
I can attest it was the best free meal I’ve ever had.

The MAD Symposium is a NFP org interrogating the future of sustainable food.
With my producer curator hat on at the Opera House for the Talks & Ideas department, we collaborated on bringing their festival to the big pointy building for a series of events.
Sounds simple...
but cue inviting a dozen of the world’s most renowned chefs to embark on Sydney for one week,
and you’ve got one wild time.
Programmed as a one-day multi-event marathon,
MAD SYD featured thought provoking panels, keynote speeches, and delicious surprise pop ups.
The fauna chandelier was a personal favourite!
Also Massimo Bottura, what a badass!
