Celebrating the landmark film’s 20th anniversary, IN THE MOOD is a fever dream live streamed performance featuring a theatrical set, ‘60s style costumes, and sax-drenched renditions of the film’s romantic soundtrack alongside new music sung by Chinese-Australian artists Rainbow Chan and Marcus Whale with narration by Eugene Choi – a lavish audio-visual journey that guides the audience through a heartbreaking cycle of longing, intimacy and forbidden love.

WHAT WE DID AND HOW WE DID ITIn lockdown 2020, Sydney Opera House commissioned this performance for the “From Our House to Yours” digital program. A bonafied hit with the performance art crowd and music audiences alike, the show was re-commissioned for a live, IRL audience for Vivid Live 2022 in the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House.&#38;nbsp;This was a WHPY Production. AKA me with my Director-Copywriter hat on, in partnership with digital media artist Sophie PY.It’s sad and it’s beautiful. Rumour has it Wong’s cinematographer Christopher Doyle (an aussie legend unto himself) has seen it. 
We didn’t receive any cease and desist letters so I guess he liked it...

In an exclusively commissioned performance featuring a 10-piece band and specially-made visuals, Ziggy Ramo Burrmuruk Fatnowna presented his debut album Black Thoughts like never before as part of the Sydney Opera House's live-streamed lockdown programme. A hip-hop reckoning through love, compassion, dispossession and systemic racism envisioned for listeners from all walks of life, the interdisciplinary performance sparked an ongoing creative relationship with the Opera House that culminated in the award-winning film ‘Little Things (feat. Paul Kelly)’ captured on the famous white Sails.

WHAT WE DID AND HOW WE DID ITIn lockdown 2020, I commissioned this performance for the “From Our House to Yours” digital program. Created during a period of global turmoil surrounding the Black Lives Matters movement, pandemic lockdown and social distancing, as well as Australia’s continuing disgrace with our colonial past, the event featured illustrations by celebrated Perth-based artist Kambarni, animated live from the broadcast studio in an innovative expansion of how the live streamed framework can impact contemporary music experiences.This was a WHPY Production. AKA me with my Director-Curator-Copywriter-Producer hats on, in partnership with digital media artist Sophie PY.&#38;nbsp;
We made many lifelong friends on this occasion, with some fairly maniacal plans for Ziggy’s next album if it ever comes out.... c’mon man!

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of John Coltrane’s revolutionary composition ‘Giant Steps’, Sydney’s own psychedelic jazz explorers GODTET expanded the original’s four minute blast of hyper-speed virtuosity into a 40 minute meditation on Coltrane’s creativity, spirituality, and how our perceptions of identity, time and place have changed in the face of the pandemic.&#38;nbsp;- THE IDEA


A bespoke live-streamed performance commissioned exclusively for Sydney Opera House, featuring specially created visuals by illustrator Christopher Cooper and animator Swicked, 60 Giant Steps unravels the mythical status that Coltrane’s opus gained upon release in 1960. A babel-like structure of rapid fire key changes that pushed the Circle of Fifths music theory to extreme lengths, 60 years on ‘Giant Steps’ maintains its reputation as the most revered and feared piece to play in the canon of jazz.

WHAT WE DID AND HOW WE DID ITInstead of my usual preamble, here is the framework that I made to empower the artists to create their best work together in a first time collaboration - the band Godtet, illustrator Christopher Cooper, and animator Swicked. Through switching between my curator, producer, director, and copywriting hats, I like to think that I’m good at shutting up when I need to and give people room to move... If you haven’t heard of René Redzepi, you may have heard of noma. One of the world’s most celebrated restaurants led by a Danish fine dining auteur, noma came to Sydney for a much hyped (and very delicious) residency for $700 a pop. With over 10k applicants, it was peak Sydney. 
I can attest it was the best free meal I’ve ever had.- This was the happy ending, lets get to the work.

The MAD Symposium is a NFP org interrogating the future of sustainable food. 
With my producer curator hat on at the Opera House for the Talks &#38;amp; Ideas department, we collaborated on bringing their festival to the big pointy building for a series of events. 
Sounds simple... 
but cue inviting a dozen of the world’s most renowned chefs to embark on Sydney for one week, 
and you’ve got one wild time. 
Programmed as a one-day multi-event marathon, 
MAD SYD featured thought provoking panels, keynote speeches, and delicious surprise pop ups. 
The fauna chandelier was a personal favourite!&#38;nbsp;

My very first time at the Opera House was in 2011. I saw Lou Reed &#38;amp; Laurie Anderson create absolute chaos in the joint. The next year I applied to be an intern and got rejected, so I bought tickets to see Odd Future there instead. Cue some cosmic wonder and make-ya-own-luck, and I ended up running amok as the fest’s Artistic Associate, Producer, Co-Curator, Copywriter, and a whole of bunch of other hats over the ensuing decade.&#38;nbsp;- Stop rambling and get to the work kiddo


Why am I looking at Channel 7 do you ask?&#38;nbsp;
Well, during my 10-year tenure at the festival, I prided myself on making the Opera House a space that celebrated local DIY communities across punk rock and club culture, as well as respectfully presenting global music movements not traditionally embraced by arts institutions, such as rap and hip hop. 
The return of Sydney cult punk heroes Royal Headache, so eloquently captured by Channel 7, was a glorious moment for the city that I will always treasure amongst many other memories of organised chaos.&#38;nbsp;
Sure, there are famous people, rock ‘n’ roll antics, nitty gritty contract negotiations, salacious gossip and truly heavenly highs and hard-nosed lows, but you owe me a schooner for those.Now lo and behold, posters!

Inspired by Spencer Tunick’s The Base (you know, all the naked people laying down on the Opera House steps), Bingefest was headlined by a commissioned performance titled AND IN THE END by LaBeouf Ronkko &#38;amp; Turner. Yes, that LaBeouf. Livestreamed over two nights and featuring a gigantic ticker tape screen on the Opera House, the premise was simple. Audience members come into a theatre, and finish the sentence ‘And in the end...’. Well, during my Featuring everything from a Buffy marathon with The AV Club (complete with a pizza delivery surprise at midnight), a Jad Abumrad keynote, Harmontown, podcasting genius Julie Snyder taking Serial, collabs with Redfern Convenience Store, fashion house Pelvis, Air BNB, weirdo bedding brand De Rucci, Playstation... you name it, we did it. Here’s a photo from the period. It was a weird time.

So my first full time full time job was senior producer of contemporary music at the opera house. That’s a fancy long-winded title that basically means I co-curated and delivered the annual music programme, which is about 30+ shows a year, along with the Vivid Live festival (the one with the pretty lights). I know the term producer is a bit vague and can mean very different things to different industries. Essentially, I did deals, negotiated contracts, did some copywriting, delivered the shows, and worked with everyone from production, box office, marketing, pr, philanthropy etc to make shit happen.&#38;nbsp;-&#38;nbsp;Time to list a bunch of artists now with pretty videos

We were tasked with giving Powerade’s “SWEAT IT OUT” campaign a new year refresh across OOH, DIGITAL &#38;amp; SOCIAL ETC. By we I mean my friend, horror fanatic and art directing partner Lucy Karsai. 
With footie legends Tayla Harris and Nat Fyfe on board as the famous faces,&#38;nbsp; we took inspiration from their trials and tribulations across the media, boring sexist douchebags on twitter, and their ups and downs on the field to create words and image that spoke to your everyday Darryl &#38;amp; Diana.&#38;nbsp;Because every now and then, us normal people just need to SWEAT IT OUT.

COCA COLA handed us the reins to conceptualise and execute the global campaign 
for Topo Chico’s new hard seltzer. 
From film to socials, CGI and activations, 
we lived and breathed the world of Topo to create a fully executed campaign 
that makes you feel the heat and touch the soul of this beautiful brand.
